I've been trying for weeks to get hold of Paul Norton at Norton Classic Servos but there's no answer....anybody any idea if he's still in business? Or does anybody know of any one else who knows their servos? _________________ '60 Armstrong Siddeley Star Sapphire

Whenever I've needed one I've bought it from MGBeehive for about £65. They're amazing value. |

I know, somebody else suggested that, but I'm kinda keen to keep the car original and rebuild the Dewandre servo that's on it.... _________________ '60 Armstrong Siddeley Star Sapphire

Understood, although early E Types had them and they were worse than useless. Restorers hide Lockeed ones underneath now. |

I think you must be right...everybody keeps telling me to junk the Dewandre?
What was so bad about them?
I suppose it means making up new pipework n stuff.
Is the MGBeehive one a Lockheed? _________________ '60 Armstrong Siddeley Star Sapphire

The brakes were dangerous on 3.8 E Types and the servo was blamed.
The MG Beehive one is probably a Pattern Lockheed, but it's good. I was told not to use Girling. |

So, what was so bad a bout the Dewandre? I noticed reading a classic car comic the other day that the original Bently 'Old number6' has a Dewandre....imagine it failing on a beast like that!!! _________________ '60 Armstrong Siddeley Star Sapphire
