Took possession of my new Lagonda this week and have spent many happy hour sifting through the old paperwork. Unfortunately I only have one buff log book from the early 60s to 65. Surely there must be a more recent green one somewhere and I'm hoping the DVLA have it from when it was submitted in exchange for the new V5 forms. Has anyone successfully got old documents from Swansea?

p.s. Here she is...

Swansea will hold a least the last one but only a photocopy - some councils retained the old log books, some returned them but most destroyed them. I have the returned buff log book for our 1938 Rover 16

Many of the older records were destroyed or discarded but there is an organisation run by volunteers who look after many of those records still in existence:

You could be in luck!

The Kithead trust once found original taxation cards for one of my Hillmans, very helpful group.

Agreed, the Kithead Trust has some very useful leads on its site. Through them I discovered an original photo of my Commer, when it was brand new in 1950. It turned up in an album that belongs to the firm that sold it.
