Based on the Wolseley 1500/Riley 1.5 bodyshell, an Australian Morris Major Elite would make for an interesting runabout here in Blighty. This one spotted earlier today on ebay Oz, is a bit knocked about but looks basically sound.

From the front, it reminds me of an A40 Farina, while from the rear the lamps look not unlike those fitted to a 105E Anglia.

Were they a big seller in Oz?

As far as I know, Rick, they were reasonably popular with those who were dedicated to British cars and wanted something a little bigger than the Minor, but certainly did not sell in great numbers.

A close friend at the time bought a second-hand one in 1965 out of the proceeds of a reward that he was paid for identifying a murderer!
