Hello, my name is Henning Gravesen and I’m an aircraft mechanic from Denmark. I’m restoring my 1935 Rolls Royce 20/25. I wonder if it is possible to find relatives of the previous owners of my car, could be great fun for both of us and maybe they have photos and information’s of the car, they might even be surprised that the car still exist, but I’m not familiar with the English system to trace the persons. I have name and addresses of the 5 owner from new, first owner was Admiral Crawford Connybaere (believe he passed away in 1937) If you can help, please send me an mail
Best Regards
Henning Gravesen

Hi
Just in case you try tracing people through the various family history sites
his name is spelt Conybeare.

Many, though not all, of those sites require correct spelling in order to get the entry you are looking for close to the top of the page.

Here is a link to public family trees in which he appears.

Edit
As I have subscription access to these I had a check of them, according to these neither he nor his siblings had any known issue.
This is not necessarily definitive however it looks as if the tree owners are descendents through cadet branches (Uncles, Aunts or even further back)

He did write a memoir of his Naval service.

Admiral Crawford Connybeare seems to have been an interesting guy with a bit of polar exploration in his CV.

Hi Henning,

In England and Wales deaths certificates have the name and address of the person reporting the death. This is often a relative or family friend. If this person is a generation younger than the deceased then they may still be alive and contactable. If not then their own death certificate and the person reporting it could be your next point of contact.

To get to someone's death certificate you need to know their name and the approximate date of their death. So you might need to search though 5 or 10 years of death lists. These lists are in 3 month chunks and list the surname and initials and place of death for all regions of England and Wales. Having found a likely name there will be a register number and you can request a copy of the death certificate from that. Searching the lists is cheap on line and free at records offices but requesting a copy of a death certificate has a cost. If memory serves me correctly it's about £7/ certificate.

Hope this helps.

Peter
