|
|
My late uncle was keen on British motorcycles, and amongst other things amassed a number of brochures throughout the 1960s.
Here are a few scans, does anyone else have any to add in?
Firstly, the 1964 Ariel Leader along with a price list
Also from 1964, a brochure for the AJS range
Another for the AJS 750cc bikes
Now to Matchless
And last one for the moment, BSA

I owned a T140, and a T160 for some years, the T160 was easier to start, pull the choke and push the button. For the T120, there is no rush, by the time you have turned the fuel on, tickled both carbs, folded out the kickstart, then got the thing going, you would have had chance to obtain another helmet.
A Norton owner for over 30 years; similar starting procedure, but at least not vibrated to 'white knuckle' level !!!!!! _________________ KA

Velo's are a different story completely. These may never start unless you have learned the correct kick-starting procedure. My mother in law taught me how to do it, she regularly rode a velo outfit on the road, and also raced one on the track, with occasional guest appearance of a daughter as passenger. Start with the decompressor to get past compression, nice and easy to begin, then accelerate as you continue the swing and hope. _________________ KA

Tell me about it, I did get the hang of it a couple of years ago, but haven't tried since
