I received this in my e-mails yesterday-
It took me a while to actually see the cause of the problem. Study the photo and see what you can make of it.
I wrote a reply as follows-
Obviously, you were supplied with the wrong belt.
Go back to the dealer and explain that
you need one with the teeth moulded on the other side
of the belt. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

| It's hard to comprehend that someone who feels comfortable changing a timing belt fits it the wrong way round, was there any engine damage? Norman |

Me thinks this a deliberate but slightly late April fools day joke but a nice one.
Thanks for posting Dane.

This couldn't happen with a timing chain... |

I think we have diagnosed the wrong issues here, my lawnmower has a double sided toothed belt, and it would seem obvious the owner has been supplied with an incorrect single sided version for his car.
I would suggest that you return the belt, ask for the double sided one, and the address of a competent engineer who can fit it for you. _________________ KA

Hi RD, belts last longer that way around! Is it perhaps something to do with being upside down in your country? Cheers,JD. _________________ 1958 Ford Zephyr Mk2 Convertible
