Hopefully I'm in the right section of the forum.
Just wanted to say hello as a new member. I'm currently restoring a 1947 FLxible Clipper RV which in hindsight was a little too large for my very first restoration project
Has been stood for over 40 years in the high mountains of California but the virtual zero humidity has meant that a severe sand blasting of the body revealed almost no rust

Hi
It might be flexible, but I can't see where the bendy bit is. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Told to looking on the net by my wife for a grade 5 Alto saxophone book for one of our twins before his exam. Got bored on Amazon as you do. Ended up looking through the classifieds in the USA for classic vehicles and came across this on a site called Tincan Tourist.
Bus was a few days away from being crushed so couldn't see that happen and ended up buying the bus blind that was 5,200 miles away, and didn't know anyone in the USA who could help me move it or even go and make sure it actually existed. Had absolutely no plan other than stop it being crushed and haven't ever restored anything in my entire life.
I did own a Fiat Supermirafiori when I was in my early twenties so at least I have experience of how rust can disintegrate a vehicle in front of your eyes. |

Hehe good stuff, it'd be easier to just have one thread running if that's ok - so I'll pop in the photo and intro from your other thread to here, then remove the other thread.
"Hi everyone,
My name is Kerry (male not female) and I foolishly bought from an advert on the internet a 1947 Flxible Clipper bus that had been stood in the high mountain desert in California for over 40 years. It's my first (and probably last) restoration project and is about 80% complete.
Only a handful of these pre 1950 Clippers around and this one would have been crushed like so many others if I hadn't bought it. " _________________ Rick - Admin

I'll get the hang of it eventually. |

Only two pre '50's examples have the original bus interior as far as I know. Those buses that were not crushed ended up as RV's which is exactly what mine is.
I've gutted the bus completely and in the process of putting a more modern RV interior in it.

Hi
Judging by the distance quoted, is this now in the UK? _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Nope. No spare parts anywhere but the USA so It's over there until most of the big jobs are done. |
