I hope we're safe for a while; this crowd can't afford to lose that many votes, and the other load of crooks may tread carefully for a while.
One has to ask, what's in it for them personally? If it contributes nothing to their personal trough at Westminster they may not bother.

The danger with this is if the current German rules gain acceptance across the rest of the EU, and our spineless Government decide that it is not worth opposing such a minority interest piece of legislation.
Or if Ken the Newt Lover decides that banning old cars in London will make a difference to the CO2 levels in "his" city.
The e-Petition on the tax-exemption date raised 2m signatures and still didn't have any effect on the legislation, so I don't see a lot of hope in this one. |

Actionable slur on newts BM. Take care, they are a protected species. |

On the contrary I love newts - and will not have a word said against them.
It is just the Mayor of London that I find objectionable. His declared hatred of any motorised vehicle and his determination to make everyone use public transport in London before he has put a good service in place, is totally at variance with my own feelings.
Now I will have to hire a car if I want to go to London, as he will seek out my registration numbers and his spy cameras will spot me driving in and a plague of traffic wardens will descend on me! |

Now if we could prove that 'Red Ken' was holding newts, against their will, and indoctrinating them with Stalinist propaganda... we may have him by the 'short and curlys'.
I wonder if 'Boris' likes newts. |

Now there's an idea.
As a protected species, no newts should be made to live with anyone who has such strange ideas. |

Can't agree with that JR. When I used to drink heavily, I always used to keep a couple of the little chaps for comparison purposes. |
