I tried to join this Flickr thing but they seem to want you to create a new email address with Yahoo!
I might not want a Yahoo email address so what then? |

You don't need to create a new email account. I managed to start a Flickr account without doing so. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

Please can you guide me through the process? I am probably doing something wrong. |

On the login page where it is inviting you to put down your details, choose a password, etc. just give it your current email address and ignore the blue lettering saying 'I'd rather create a new Yahoo email address'.
It will then take you through on the basis of your current email address. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

No luck. It just won't accept. |

I have read on the official Flickr website that you can only sign up as a new user if you adopt a "Yahoo" email address.
These hosting sites all seem to be getting too big for their boots.
There are some forums who provide a service so posting photos is automatic and still free.
I remain confused. |

Tapatalk is an App for smartphones and tablets, it lets you upload images directly from your device, not helpful if you use computer, but really useful when you use a phone. |

Thanks for your advice. I can always do with help when it comes to using this technology. Fortunately, I have found 'postage' to be the answer. Incidentally, I have had to use my iPhone while my MacBook Pro was in for repairs but I found it fiddly. That is probably because I don't generally use a phone like so many people do these days.
As it happens, my computer was beyond economical repair and I am now using a MacBook Air which is far less cumbersome. |

Hi Ray,me too on that. Also, they seem unable to sort out registering on the site! I've spent hours & not been able to register simply because I'd looked at it some years ago so my email address is already noted. Good job they couldn't hear me swearing at them - gave up in the end, cheers,JD. _________________ 1958 Ford Zephyr Mk2 Convertible

I. Have a yahoo email address and don’t bother with it. It’s not a reason not to use Flickr IMO. |

That would be my recommendation too, it's a doddle. _________________ David

If you use BT as your internet provider...you should be able to use that. Yahoo hosts BT email etc. But then, not everyone uses BT!! _________________ Alistair

Very kind of you Alistair. I have so much to learn. I seem to have sorted out my posting photos difficulty with 'postimage' but thanks for the advice. I had no idea about BT. |

Having successfully used Postimage since the Photobucket debacle, I now cannot access the Postimage site - I get the message 'the server's IP address could not be found'! Anyone else got this problem, or is it just me? _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline
