Morning all,

The garage at OCC HQ has quite a few old numberplates adorning its interior, many from cars I've owned in the past. Have you hung onto any from cars you've had in earlier times, as a reminder? Is it all that survives of the car?

RJ

The only plates I have are from this car because I decided at the time to fit reflectives.

I have a couple nailed up in the garage from cars we've broken for parts. The ones that were sold on complete, however, have left no traces, frequently not even a photograph.

I have a couple of old ones up on the shelf from cars in my Grandfathers scrapyard when we were younger.

My first was a Mk 1 Ford Consul TBJ 20. Big black begger it was. While based at R.A.F. Benson.

Cheers, Tony.

Our number plates belong to the State Government and when we allow our licence to expire we must hand them back in within 30 days or face a fine. A few do escape the net, but not many, especially if you are honest.

Its weird being the same age as old people.

I am one of those stupid people who can't forget his number plates although I have never kept one. Where are you 366 AJH, 785 XPK, OSC 248 G, DBK 917 C, 47 AJB, TTH 72 - just a few amongst many that demand a place between my ears. Most have gone to that great god in the sky I guess, but some live on. I can't trace 47 AJB but I hear that it is often seen in the Midlands.

It must be a part of getting old. I can remember all the numbers of the cars I drove in my youth but have to think about what my current daily driver's is.
