If it were, Rick, then the Registered Keeper is doing themselves out of the benefits of having a pre-1960 registration? After all, the Pop chassis will have a dateable chassis number stamped on the left front frame leg? |

Is the body made of cardboard? It certainly looks like it. What is the springing on the front? I cant see any. Has he chopped the crossmember and welded the R/S engine mount to it. Where are the 100E parts?

The engine looks like it could be 100E (ie it has a waterpump I think), and the seats, but the rest looks like a mix of 103E chassis and pieces of cardboard - presumably the latter was used during a mock-up phase to help build the body from something more substantial, or at least rain resistant.
As so little 100E remains, I assume the reg. no. that's still lives is on something else. Or is pending cancellation. Or maybe the blue 100E was re-assembled ...

It would need to have an original un modified chassis suspension and axles to qualify for tax/MOT exemption for historic vehicles. _________________ old tourer

I was mistaken about the chassis. I though the crossmember had been cut but enlarging the photo shows it more clearly. The engine mount is going to be/or already attached to the angled chassis brace. The is probably why it is sitting so far back.

Hi
Might make it a bit prone to lifting the front end if too much right foot is applied at the start. On the other hand perhaps that engine doesn't deliver enough power for that. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

But why dissect a car just to remove the engine, gearbox, and a seat. Isn't that a bit overkill? |
