Thank you Rick for allowing me to give our charity drive a mention.
Having always wanted to drive LeJoG, the occasion of my 70th birthday later this year seemed a good time. Naturally we had to do it in our Riley but the direct route of 874 miles didn't appeal at all, hence the 'via B-roads' idea and - to add further challenge, we'll be navigating the whole way using tulip diagrams.
Our trip is to raise funds for two hospitals that have looked after both of us during periods of serious illness in recent years. You can read about us, our reasons and about 'Riley Blue' on our website www.rileyblue.org and if you feel inclined to make a donation, that would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

We're on our way!
We departed Land's End on Thursday afternoon. On our way through torrential rain on the A30 to the start on Wednesday we lost indicators and horn. Thankfully Tim Kelly at St Agnes had a modern electronic relay in stock that once fitted sorted the indicators. The horn turned out to be simply a corroded fuse.
No other car issues though the shocking state of the roads is shaking the poor thing to pieces - even its rattles have rattles!
A rest day today, time to remember all those things we overlooked before the start. Tomorrow we're the first car away at 10:00 am on the Buckingham Insurance Tally Ho Run from Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield however we shall divert at the lunch halt to head on north to Haltwhistle, tomorrow's overnight stop.
See www.rileyblue.org for detail updates. _________________ David
