Hi
I'd like to top-up the Volvo's steering box with Penrite steering box lubricant (I've used it in other cars). Peering inside through the tiny fill plug opening, it looks like normal grey grease in there which is hardly ideal. Ideally I'd like to fish out as much as possible out of there, before putting proper lubricant in.
If I back off the adjuster, and remove the bolts holding the cover of the box on, am I likely to mess anything up with the steering (nothing will spring out and disappear under the car etc)? Just that with the cover off, it'd make scooping out the old stuff a whole lot easier.
thanks, R _________________ Rick - Admin
