They can sound good, can't they.
I miss my GT6. It also looked good in the sunshine ... and gave the impression of speed, even if by today's standards it wouldn't cut the mustard. |

Well said. That is one of the great things about these old cars. Years ago I even had that same feeling in my old, and very slow by modern standards, Triumph Herald 1200. A rorty exhaust, sitting low by the ground, excellent.
Still think that I am going fast in my TR4 when almost every other car on the road now can easily beat it. It is not the speed per se but the experience that makes the enjoyment. _________________ a car stops being fun when it becomes an investment |

Hi
On the train going up to Glasgow this morning, just after crossing the Lancaster Canal entering Lancaster I saw what appeared to be a London Transport bus stop (pole and sign, White square with a Red Ring and Black horizontal bar) in someones back garden. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Heading down Kendon hill towards Crumlin this afternoon, a Minor van painted dark green with red wings - was that a military thing back in the day? I think it's one of those things I used to know but have since forgotten... |

Just like that, though the one I spotted lacked any signs. |

Another variant with black wings are the Series 11 the Post Office Telecoms vans. They look odd because the lights are not down in the wings but perched (frog like) on top of them .

Those are the rubber wings, aren't they? A good idea that should have taken off more widely. Imagine if cars had rubber wings these days, the bodyshops and insurers would have a hard time of it! |

I doubt the GPO would have ever specified those chrome wheel embellishers!

Most have plastic front wings now. Before long steel will not feature in the body at all. |

I spotted a big Yank custom van being transported down the A303 yesterday evening, same body style as the van used in the original A-Team series. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

I've spotted the ex-bomb disposal Minor van a few more times around Blackwood. Adorned with some plastic skulls and a Welsh flag it's obvious the owner is something of a character, but it does appear to be in regular use |
