With the shape of the radiator and the wheels I would favour a Dennis.

Hi
It does appear to have the large oval background to the rad badge like the Dennis does. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

I must confess that the appearance of what is on the oval badge doesn't look like Dennis but perhaps it's a reflection of something rather than the lettering.

This photo (which has gone through a modern colourisation process) supposedly shows a 'self built car' in about 1908. Its taken in London Road, Stockton Heath in Cheshire
It is rumoured to have been built by a Tom Astill who is an ancestor of mine. Legend has it that Tom owned the first car in Warrington, a De Dion Bouton in about 1900, though this car is clearly later and may have nothing to do with him
Any clues will be very welcome

It looks to be too large and sophisticated to be a one-off home-build, but I have no idea what it is, sorry. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

I agree, I think its a misunderstanding of the significance of the knocked together wooden seat. Far more likely it is a chassis being driven to a coachbuilder for its body _________________ "Once bread becomes toast, it can never go back! |

The step near the top of the radiator is a clue, but it doesn't appear as pronounced as the Mors.
It's got me stumped, so I've thrown it over to The Society of Automotive Historians in Britain, of which I am a member, to see what they think.
Check out their website, https://www.thesahb.com/ it full of fascinating stuff, if you are of a like mind! _________________ "Once bread becomes toast, it can never go back! |
