Hello, My name is Joe from just south of Boston, Massachusetts. I've been enjoying this website for quite some time and decided to chime in. My vehicles are all in good running condition (at the moment) but none are show vehicles, just drivers. So this website's philosophy and content seem just about perfect. Thank you for the kind comments. Here are some notes on the cars.
I've owned the Model T for many years and have only upgraded a couple of components. The NH carb is swapped for a Stromberg OF from the period. This improves acceleration and top-end speed, and the brass unit looks just right on the engine. For safety, I've added a set of period AC brakes to the rear. I just finished installing them, so it will take a little time to adjust them properly. We really enjoy this little car.
I've owned the '32 Chevy for 2 years much of which I've spent making it a reliable driver. Because I'm smarter than all the Chevy engineers of 1932, I tried to use modern techniques to adjust the rods and mains instead of following the service manual procedure. As a result, it took 3 attempts to get it right. This year I rebuilt the top end (using the service manual), so the Stovebolt Six is running as it should. This is my second early Chevy 6, having owned a 1929 Coupe years ago. People like this car because of it's flashy "Baby Cadillac" styling. _________________ Owned: 1917 Ford Model T Touring

Thanks. In the mid-seventies, I had a 1929 Chevy 3-window coupe, my first vintage car. That was the first year of the Stovebolt Six engine with an updraft carb. Had to sell it when I was transferred, and always wanted another. I found the 1932 5-window stored in a container in Maine in 2017. In 1932, Chevy upped the power to 60 HP and switched to a downdraft carb setup. Still, the '32 scratched the itch to replace my old '29.

Welcome Joe. I have a soft spot for T's as that was the first vehicle that I bought in 1960 and that lead to a long interest in T's and Model A's. Nowadays I go for more modern cars - Rovers, the oldest being a 1950 model. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |
