Hi all, first post here so hope it works ok.
I've had this orange twin-SU manifold for almost thirty years now, after buying it at a show in Scotland - I was told it was from a Triumph, but have been unable to match it to any Triumph that I know. There are no manufacturer's marks or casting numbers anywhere that I've been able to find, but I was told a few years back that it's a Mangoletsi due solely to the colour.
The carbs are a pair of SUs, AUC 870 and AUC 871, and the float chambers are tagged AUD104L and AUD104R. These carbs have been used on a range of cars from Riley 1500 to Mini Cooper and MG Midget but none of these have such a steep slant to their engines, nor do they match the intakes.
The manifold is steeply angled, and the float chambers angled to match, and the intakes are twin-port, but it doesn't seem to fit any slant-engined Triumph, and any other vehicle such as a Hillman Imp, where the engine is slanted, doesn't match the ports. Does anyone have any kind of idea as to what they're from?
