My friend Richard (1930 Ford Model A Roadster) has invited us to visit Cape Cod, Massachusetts, this weekend in our '32 Chevy coupe' to join him on a tour of the Cape. We're both shutter-bugs, so we plan to document things with lots of photos. One of our planned stops is the Heritage Plantation in Sandwich which has an impressive historic car and firearms display. The weather looks good so watch this space for updates on progress. Bear in mind, in some ways this is a Ford vs Chevy competition. My Ford friends take pleasure in poking fun at my Chevy, so fingers crossed for a reliable performance from the '32.

I am happy to report that the Cape Cod Tour was a complete success with no breakdowns or mechanical issues with either Richard's Model A Roadster or my '32 Chevy Coupe. Because of high traffic volume in the vicinity of Heritage Plantation, we decided to visit Chatham Massachusetts instead of the museum. We enjoyed perfect weather all day making this a memorable weekend jaunt.
Our first stop on this journey was at Marstons Mills Airport, home of two historic DC-3 Gooney Bird Airplanes, both airworthy and regularly flown. Then we motored over to busy Chatham for shopping for the ladies and lunch for all. After that, we visited the Chatham Coast Guard Station where the movie "The Finest Hours" was filmed and where the actual rescue depicted took place. Next we made the short drive to the Chatham Railroad Museum to photograph the cars in front of the New York Central caboose displayed in front of the station there.
Leaving Chatham, we drove over to Brewster to Drummer Boy Park to see its windmill and beautiful grounds. Our last stop of the day was a photo op at historic West Barnstable Railroad Station, still in active use by the Mass Coastal Railroad.
Upon our return to Richard's home, we set up a Ham Radio station in front of the cars so we could participate in the ARRL Field Day Competition. Needless to say, the radio tent and cars drew many passers-by during the next several hours wondering what we were up to.
What a fun and interesting weekend. Many thanks to our hosts, Rich and Suzi, for inviting us and to Rich for taking and editing the photos. I will upload the photos in a separate posting very soon.

I've looked at the guidance on posting photos here, but still haven't gotten it sorted out. Can anyone help? _________________ Owned: 1917 Ford Model T Touring

It is possible to display Flickr images but it's a bit messy. It would be much easier if you used postimage for your photo store.
Basically your photos need to be in .jpg file format. You need to download each of your images (bottom right on the Flickr page) and the downloaded file will give you the file name in .jpg and can then be displayed between the [img][/img].
For example the first image has the .jpg address:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51274240986_837265723c_b.jpg
The trip looks good fun. Thanks for posting.
Peter

For me too! Once on a business trip I was determined to swim in both the Atlantic and Pacific on the same trip. My eastern dip was at Cape Cod on a weekend in daylight but the western dip was not so easy. I had to sneak off after dark at Long Beach and brave some really big waves in the dark. Quite scary!

Great pictures Joe and Peter. Thanks to both of you. The Chevy looks fantastic.
I've never been to the USA, but Cape Cod certainly looks very nice indeed.
Don't worry about what Ford people say about your Chevy! We have the same rivalry between Ford and GM products here in Oz.

Its weird being the same age as old people.
You are either part of the problem or part of the solution |

Re: Poking fun at my Chevy . . . It’s all in fun among my friends. There are many more surviving Ford than Chevy cars from that era here. So I think everyone enjoys seeing the rarer Chevy out and about, including the Ford people. This weekend Rich and I made comparisons between the two cars’ performance, handling and ease of entry. Both cars have similar cruising and top speeds, although the Ford feels a little faster accelerating out of second gear and into high. The Chevy coupe is easier to enter and exit than the tighter Ford roadster, but both have comfortable seating and similar ride quality.
