On the topic of fuel.
I don't have any more detail at the moment but maybe this fuel made the RR run like the "Devil" |

Hi
A product of the Coalite Co.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coalite
By 1939, the company was producing a low octane petrol called "Coalene" as well as diesel and other fuel oils. It continued to do so through the Second World War and into the early 1960s. It supplied fuel to the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy during the war, reputedly keeping 12 squadrons flying and two battleships sailing.
Perhaps the Coalite Co explains the Falklands war.
It was fuel supply protection measure.
In 1978, the company merged with the Charringtons Coke distribution company and with this they acquired the Falkland Islands Company. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

I suppose that 95RON could be considered the wrong fuel, and it is getting harder to find 98 these days so i shall be obliged to carry a bottle of octane booster. Is it readily available where you are? |

Shell forecourts all sell their higher octane petrol under the banner of āVā Power. Fairly more expensive than the standard stuff. |

No, you did it the right way around. If you had put petrol into a modern diesel it would run and you might be unaware of your mistake until it had killed the injection pump by lack of lubrication.

That was what happened on my neighbor's pick-up truck. Out of excitement after the installation of the new suspension from 4Wheelone plus bigger tires, he took it for a 3-day trip and put the wrong fuel on the way back. He had no idea until the mechanic found the faulty injection pump. |
