Rick,
Just read through this thread - fascinating stuff. I have a liking for old race car transporters as well and remember the Maranello Concessionaires FIAT truck that lived at the side of the road opposite a pub on the A30 just to the west of Egham back in the 1970's. I would drive past it on my way to Thruxton.
You asked earlier in this thread about photographs of Norman Davis driving his Lola Mk 2 in the early 1960's - did you approach "motorsport IMAGES" at all? This outfit is the current iteration of the Motor Sport magazine archive that used to be known as LAT (London Art T*******) but I don't know where it is based now since the magazine has changed hands a couple of times in the last ten years.
There is an email address quoted in the magazine of the Morris Register which publishes two or three of their old photos each month:
info@motorsportimages.com
A couple of minutes typing might be fruitful.....

A little more online research turned up a page on the Lola register page about the single seater that the Commer once carried.

Today I uploaded a video walkaround of the aged Superpoise and talk a little more about its past, it's now been incorporated onto the following page of the main site.

Just to add, this evening I tracked down a photo of another Forte's Commer Superpoise with a similar KEL registration but different bodywork:

So perhaps they ran a fleet of such vehicles, seems likely.

Bit more tinkering achieved recently, the fuel/air mix doesn't appear to be reaching the sparks so I'm guessing it may be a little low on compressions, probably the next thing that needs checking.
