Hello,

I have got an old sparkrite tx1002 electronic ignition off ebay it is 20+ years old. Unfortnately it never came with any instructions though and it has five wires coing out of it, I dont suppose anyone has come across a sparkrite electronic ignition like this one? If so do you know how to wire it up, or has anyone got any old instructions on them.

They were quite popular 20 years ago I think.

Cheers for any help,
Peter Medley

Purple = Coil (-ve)
Blue AND Red = Coil (+ve)
White = Distributor
Green/Yellow = earth

These are for my SX1000 and they the same for 1500 and 2000

If it dosen't work , there is only one thing that normaly fails; its a big electrolytic capacitor within the Sparkrite unit, which will have probably dried out. Make a note of the polarity, unsolder it and nip down to your local Maplin or RS components who will sell you a repalcement for a pound or 2.
