50 years old this year; a timer / oscillator that I first used in school in the 70's & 80's, and currently using as part of a circuit to make semaphore trafficators more obvious to modern traffic
Makes me feel old!

I'm ashamed to say that I wouldn't have known what it was when I was at school.
The only timer I remember was the metronome that I used when practicing the piano.
Table of basic tempo comparisons
Italian English Number of beats per minute
Largo Broadly 40 – 60
Lento Slowly 52 – 68
Adagio Slow (“at ease”) 60 – 80
Andante Moderately slow 76 – 100
Moderato Moderately 88 – 112
Allegretto Somewhat fast 100 – 128
Allegro Fast (joyous) 112 – 160
Vivace Fast & Lively ~ 140
Presto Very fast 140 – 200
Prestissimo Faster than Presto > 188 |
