|
|
I'm about to embark on trying to fit new rubber bushes to the Luvax suspension links. I have the bushes but I'm reliably informed they are a swine to fit unless one has the special press tool dollies to do it.
As this is a job I only expect to do once in my remaining lifetime, I don't particularly want to fork out £60 to buy the tools and wondered if some kindly member may have them to loan out?
Willing to pay postage. I'm in Nottingham.
Anyone with previous experience of doing this I would also appreciate your best advice.

Best of luck with those ba**ards, Peter. I have heard they can be trouble even with the right tools.
I was sufficiently dissuaded from doing it myself to get mine overhauled by an expert - Raj Patel - in Leicester. I took them to his premises and was amazed at how he and his wife are working in such primitive conditions and must have been doing so for many years.!
As it happened, one of my rear dampers was incorrect. The original had been broken off in an old accident and as I wanted to have everything "correct" I bought a N.O.S damper from a dealer...it cost more than the other three overhauled ones put together!
Sorry, I don't have the proper tools... but I can make some enquiries if you don't have any luck. |

From what I recall the tool is quite simple, do you know someone with a lathe who could turn something up for you?

Thanks Ray. I have that same sketch but no lathe.
Like you, I'm desperately trying to limit spending loads on stuff I'll only use probably once so still in hope someone has some to borrow. _________________ Daimler Fifteen 1934 (now sold)

Must be some small workshops who do odd jobs in Nottingham? |
