I know the kits you mean, my bro had one or two a little while back. I think I have some Penguin toy racers, which I think was part of Frog??

yes thats right ,i have a book that covers all the kits made by Tri-ang before and after the war,the early Pengiun kits were made with balsa wood

interesting stuff, these 2 racers are plastic bodied with metal bases, powered by elastic band Cool They aren't kits though - could they be different to whats in your book?

they also did flying models that you wound up with a small handle in its carrying box and then launched into the air,I will dig out the book tomorrow and look your cars up for you, build dates etc.
