I know we have had readers on here who have mentioned previously owned Citroen AMIs.
Apparentl Citroen have now resurrected the AMI name just as they did a few years back with the DS.
BUT, this one is Electric and is also classified as a VSP.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_Ami_(electric)

I know we have a member who is domiciled in France (Low Drag????) so perhaps he has had experience of VSP drivers.
VSP??? it means Voiture Sans Permit but it iss the driver who can be "Sans Permit".

Crikey!

Cheap enough for a strugglin' pensioner, but a dire rolling road block for my 5 miles of main A road from nearly home, to nearest town! No real options of remaining on minor roads [rural lanes] due to the limited range...I'd be pushing the darned thing for the last 2 miles!!

All very well catering solely for the urban or 'chitty' dweller..[Sean Connery accent there?}, but for someone needing very cheap transport in a predominantly rural area, these things are simply no good.
[There is an absence of proper public transport as well].

History is littered with automotive failures. This will just be added to the list.

A proper professional electric conversion of a real Ami, however,,,now that's a serious proposition.! Wink

While I haven't found any on line examples of an electric Ami I have watched this video of a 2CV conversion. (2CEV).

Not everyone's cup of tea but it might encourage the younger generation to at least consider Classic Cars in some guise or other when we are no longer around....

It's the VSP bit that I find most worrying.

Unlicenced, possibly banned, drivers wandering around in not just these but any of the other VSP vehicles such as https://www.aixam.com/en/

Forced to be seen in one would itself be punishment !

Some look more conventional.

I guess they would have great appeal to the 14 - 17 year age group.

Too many people on here are failing to see the point of this vehicle. It is not a car, it is a quadricycle that is meant to be used in urban areas for a three to five mile commute. I had the misfortune to travel into central London for work on Thursday, the entire centre has a 20mph speed limit and I barely saw 15mph with all the pedestrian crossings every 30yrds or less. I would rather drive this than something with a clutch pedal, and definitely prefer it over a bicycle.

I have arranged my life in such a way that I very seldom visit congested conurbations.

In my 51 years of existence it was the first time I had to visit London, and sadly at the wheel of a LWB Mercedes Sprinter, so not fun at all. It was then that the reason for the Ami quadricycle's existence made absolute sense. I'm just thankful I don't live there and have to negotiate the chaotic roads every day. I much prefer driving along the country roads I have around me.
