A recent addition to my archive. The people have been identified and a date of about 1928 but not the car or the location.

Circa 1926 Arroll Johnson; that looks to be a very fancy body with its 3-pane windscreen.

Perhaps an Arrol Johnston?

Peter

Bast! Just beaten to it! That said, at least I took the time to spell the name correctly. Wink

Great minds think alike, Peter!

Scottish car, Scottish registration number, so location also somewhere in Scotland?

Thankyou Mike and Peter S. It confirms my thoughts. The location I believe to be Bylands Abbey, North Yorkshire. Restoration started there in 1921. The Scottish number plate would fit in with the car being registered by the manufacturer in Glasgow (Paisley). The photo may have been taken by the chauffer as it is said that neither adult ever drove a motor vehicle.

Continuing with the Arrol Johnston.. I turned up this from an OCC article.

https://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/images/galloway.jpg

The radiator badge is different but the rest is very similar.

The Galloway story can be found on wiki, but I couldn't get the link to work.

Goes to the place..
