Today's compilation gathers together Vauxhalls and Opels (mainly UK market cars) of the 1960s and into the 1990s, all seen at shows, parked up in use, or in museums over the last 20 years.

Here's a rather unusual Reliant GT that appears at some of our local shows with a supercharged V8 shoehorned in.

It could be made to make quite rapid progress despite having only 700cc. You needed to wind up the speed for overtaking. So pull well back from the intended overtaking target and accelerate towards it when you think a good opportunity is coming up. If the opportunity is lost then you simply brake off all the speed advantage that you had over your target. I found my Rebel on a remote hill farm in Caldbeck Cumbria with a con rod through the side of its block. It replaced my nice little Ginetta G15 when our daughter out grew her carry cot.

The Rebel gearbox was too fragile for me. I had to change the layshaft twice. One and a half teeth off 3rd gear on both occasions

The latest upload covers some work done to the Standard's engine in a bid to quieten it down a little. Needless to say what should have been a quick-ish job turned into anything but.
