That was one of the videos I hadn't watched previously. But since Peter's post I have seen it and also found this.

Other things noticed:
I didn't realise that the wartime service tanks had rubber tyre blocks, unless they were a post war modification.
That Citroen AMI could have been driven by someone without a licence. with a lower age limit of 14.
There are some other small vehicles in this category "Voitures sans permis"
Lowdrag maywell be able to tell us whether the locals are wary of people driving them, after all you could be a banned driver and yet still use one of these.

and that rather plush place coming out of Poole Harbour was Brownsea Castle on Brownsea Island, the island is well known, certainly in scouting circles, as the location for Baden Powell's first camping expeditions when setting up the organisation.

What are the two quick release type things on the front apron of the Aston Martin?
Re changes: I would appreciate some easier access to sections of the main site. Such as an extensive contents list of hyperlinks. For example when I want to access your UK registration information I currently have to use the search which brings up a host of irrelevancies before I get to the section I want.
As to the relative merits of forums and Facebook groups. The latter are designed to be very transient and it's quite difficult at times to find anything in the history of posts. Forums are very much better at letting you see the history.
I admit that FB Groups have a large following but that is about the only benefit as far I can see. Perhaps with one exception. It's very much easier to post a photo or image in FB. This forum now prohibits any photo links that are not https prefixed which is a real PIA demanding an intermediate host.

Re the Aston, I think one is/was for an oil tank, the other may just be a dummy, if I think on I'll ask the owner when I next see him.
The registration section is linked to on the homepage, scroll down a bit to the Researching A Classic Car's History section, or just use the link in the dropdown menu (just to the right of the logo at the top of the page) and that'll jump you down to that section. The registrations link is there.
I agree, FB is here today and gone again in a blink.
I think most hosting companies use https in their links anyway, the only criteria I know for linking to images successfully from the forum is that the link needs to end in a .jpg (or similar graphic file extension). I don't think http or https matters.

Both pictures appear when I view the forum on my phone or iPad, but neither (just get broken icon) when I use my laptop (windows 10) Possibly as this is a work laptop that has security settings controlled by my company, there may be something blocking http links?

I remember someone once saying that their Norton AV software threw up a warning when certain posts were viewed, this was a while ago but as Dave mentions, maybe it's to do with http content shown on the page and certain AV software/settings?

I have tried the bottom link of the Jaguar on 4 different browsers.
Chrome, Firefox, AVG, and Edge.
It worked on all 4 of them.
