See what you can spot here.
What is the most unexpected for you?
What is the oldest type you can spot?
Don't stick just to the area where the map is cetntered, theres quite a lot further out from the centre.

I recall my Brother having a book about the Desert Boneyard when we were younger.

It had lovely photos, even with lines of B29's.

https://tinyurl.com/Boneyard-Prediction

Apparently no longer available.
It was a prediction that When the last 747 lands at the boneyard a DC3 and crew will be waitng to take the crew back to their base

Hence my prediction below, though that may now not come true because they are extending the Buff's life with RR engines talking about going past 2052 making the basic design over 100 yrs old.

I have a feeling the same will apply when the last Buff gets there.

I have been browsing round the Boneyard again and found this
https://maps.gstatic.com/tactile/pane/arrow_left_1x.png

Is that a Bone on the W side of the Galaxy ?
The reason I am querying it is because the tailp[i[pes don't seem to match exactly with a 3 view plan diagram.

Incidentally I have heard that the US is deploying a full unit of Bones to Fairford this spring/summer.
I wonder why!!!!

Certainly looks like a C5A Galaxy. maybe it is full of corrosion and beyond repair?

Hiu
I'd figured out the Galaxy because when I saw the apparent size I checked Wiki for survivors and the one at Davis Mopnthan is mentioned.
I'm still not sure about the B1, apart from the tail pipes I mention above I can't see any sign of the nose cone winglets.

Apparently RAF Fairford is now home to a deployment of Bones, they started arriving this week, but their support crews and kit arrived 2/3 weeks ago.
This does not appear to be short term temporary, so what are they doing here?
Could it be a bit of Sabre rattling?
