We are not far off the time when I shall be forced to sell my cars I fear. Prices are rising so fast that budgeting is becoming a ball-juggling feat nowadays. For example, Jaguar themselves, well known for subcontracting part costs and quadrupling the price to the public, have just announced the launch of a five speed gearbox, of which there are already some available from about £5,000. Their price is £10,600. Moreover, you are offered a new pear-shaped knob with a 5-speed marking. The old 4-speed one is available for about £40, but this one is now on offer at £410! I am seeking new steering parts, the price of which is £500 the pair. They were available at around £100, but no more. I have already put one car on the market, but am loath to sell the E-type which has been a faithful friend for the last forty years.

Not just Jaguars, but also many more mundane marques as well.
I noted a marked increase in the price of basic stuff for the '67 Mustang, from the USA too.
Rock Auto usually have good prices, and things I had earmarked last year, but put off buying for various reasons, now cost significantly more this year....

Welcome to my world! The reality is that to get low volume decent quality spares at affordable prices is burning the candle at 3 ends!

We are building up a number of suppliers (including one on this forum) who fit the bill, but it is time consuming and less attractive to some potential manufacturers when you only require small quantities.
We are getting there and now supply parts that have not been available for many years.
We have made some good contacts with Chinese manufacturers, who I have to say are really easy to deal with and have turned out quantity products.
