Right, so I've been seeing a lot of very nice prewar cars for sale at the moment and keep being tempted...I have no space as our sheds our all full.

So, I am thinking about resurrecting a project that I have had for many years now.

I have owned the car since 1994, I saw it advertised in a local paper (before ebay Wink

), I was 18 and it was my first foray into classic car restoration. She was advertised as a 1937 Ford Prefect, I was keen on Fords and knew the Prefect wasn't introduced in 37 so I thought I must go have a look.

We went up to Bristol to have a look and found this rather lovely barn find Ford, she had an E93A front end which obviously wasn't right, I subsequently found that its owner 'updated' her look to that of the Prefect early postwar.

Long story short, we bought her for very little and trailered her back to the levels and started a restoration....then many things got in the way, University, houses, children then other projects and the little Ford has been sat in the back of our shed covered up since...

Well, not for much longer I hope!! My plan is to gradually clear all the accumulated stuff around her and get her out to continue her restoration and finally finish her and get this lovely little car back on the road.

Good plan??

Will you be returning the car to Y spec or keeping the E93A front end?

I am thinking it may be difficult to get hold of pre war parts.

The front grill for the 7W is extremely difficult to find these days, I spent 20 years searching for one and in the end completely by chance found one in New Zealand, I had it shipped over a few years back now.

I still have to find a bonnet but that is shared with the Anglia and Pop so they are more available.

AH YES! I had forgotten who posted that!

What a fantastic find. I had similar good fortune with my '26 Dodge Brothers tourer with lots of rare parts sent by ship from down under.

Is it a black car?

Its not Ray, its actually blue. Its called 'Coronation' Blue for the coronation of 1937.
