Morning, my latest upload has now gone live, our visit to the excellent (and free-to-enter) Jet Age museum, where many interesting things (not just jets) are to be found.

Hi all, using clips from 2020-onwards I've put together a guide to 16 transport-related museums that we've been to across the UK. Some are well known, others much less so, but as a guide it may come in useful for anyone planning a few visits.

A superb guide to motor museums, Rick.

As you may remember I have fond memories of the derelict Brooklands track long before the museum was established. You correctly identified two MG M types. The second one; VC 8174, is in fact an example of the factory cars that MG raced with considerable success at Brooklands. You will have noticed that it has a more "sporty" appearance than the normal road car next to it...with cycle type mudguards, fold flat screen and flat scuttle.

They were the British answer to the Le Mans 24 hours endurance race. These racers are known as "double 12" cars because at the time, such was the strength of objection from residents of the nearby St Georges Hill private estate, the race organisers agreed to a compromise....where the race would be held over two days in 2 x 12 hour stints.!

I cannot tell if the car VC 8174 is a genuine example or a finely executed replica. Either way it is really great to see a racing M type in it's natural environment.

Thank you, Rick.

Can't wait for these longer evenings again, in tonight's upload we wind the clock back to September and lap up a varied mix of pre- and post-war gems at this regular social event.
