This would have been the original wheel. But be aware that they are not so easy to balance. The centre hole is not round;-)

Yes, the Hellebore steering wheel belongs to the car. The wooden one in the car is from a smaller Innocenti version.

I also really like the rosepedal whells on your car, even if they are not original.

I wouldn't be to sure, if the car always was an Export Version. The bodyshell seems to be a Innocenti one, but otherwise is a kind of mixture of the Export Version, Non-Export Version and a 80/90s british Mini.

Non-Export Innocenti: boot-lid, bonnet badge, openable front quarter glass (Export was always fixed)
Export Innocenti: badges on boot-lid, front grille and a-panel
British Mini: e.g.braking system, missing braking servo, rear mirror, cooling system, front indicator, rear quarter glass (side picture would be good), maybe rear lights (if not Olsa, Altissimo, Aric oder Carello ones), parts of the interior, bumpers
Fiat 500:side indicators


I would think about matching the badges to either all export ones or all non-Export ones, and change some distinctly non Innocenti parts on the exterior (front and side indicators), maybe also the rear mirror on the inside.

I think this would upgrade the otherwise also today beautiful car in a beautiful condition even further:-)

Carello rear lights are perfect!

Do you find anything in your documents or on the nameplate or in the the first numbers/letters of the VIN which indicates it as a B39/6 or B39/7?
Normally the production date of the Non-Export Version ended in 1973, but of course also some cars from 1973 have been registered in 1974 for the first time.

Or during restoration there was an Non-Export car for spares? But the VIN could give good indication.



The Export cars had a bigger recessed area for the registration plate, because most countries beside Italy had bigger plates.

I'll have to look out for an Export boot lid as a UK plate would sit in it nicely, or I may have a go at fabricating the boot skin from scratch.

Found the chassis details stamped in to the RH inner wing:



B39/7 does that clarify whether its an Export or not?
