^ I went to the above event, it wasn't especially busy. I'm told there are usually more cars there, perhaps the weather had put them off, or the road closure alongside the venue.

This weekend there's a Yesteryear Rally at Mill Meece Pumping Station, just off the A519 Newcastle Road towards Eccleshall from this direction. It's on Saturday and Sunday, I haven't been to this venue but I know a few who have. I probably won't do this weekend as I have Cholmondeley Castle on Sunday, missing the Cars and Coffee at Combermere event on Sunday morning.

I completely forgot that Malpas Yesteryear Rally was on last weekend, September 12th/13th. I usually go to that for a look around.

There's a Car Treasure Hunt on Saturday 26th September starting from the Cholmondeley Arms, register by sending an email to tim@cheshirecatpubsandbars.co.uk - ten pound entry fee for two team members per car which goes to the Air Ambulance.

The Cholmondeley Castle show was very well attended yesterday, in fact some of the later arriving exhibitors had to resort to some 'creative parking' to find a spot. So I imagine they probably got somewhere near the 1,000 classic cars they were aiming for.

Given how busy it was, and how tight parking space got in some sections, I think the event could had done with a couple of martials to control the traffic flow into and out of the main arena. This seemed to get more chaotic as the day went on, with those leaving and trying to enter the arena getting snarled up and almost gridlocked, which was compounded by exhibitors who had decided to leave the event early and wanted to use the same single track access road at the same time. Apart from that, it was a very enjoyable show.

The weather held too, with sunshine in evidence but it was a bit of a cool start until the wind dropped a bit and the sun got higher in the sky. It was good to see some familiar faces from the local classic car scene there, as well as meeting some new people too.
