Aiming for a final session on the car to sort out the few remaining gremlins. First is an overall tighten up of exhaust etc. following engine removal, then the various bits and bobs on my previous post.
Indicators work fine when the engine is running! So will not bother fiddling with them again for the time being. Fuel gauge is intermittent, possibly needs a new sender, this is a common 1303 Beetle fault, my previous one was the same.
Reading up on it, it seems that it is hard to cure, even though new senders and gauges are available. For the time being, I may just keep a note of my mileage and fill up accordingly, taking the proecaution of having a can in the boot.
Had a 20 mile sortie last weekend. Bozzes along quite happily when warmed up. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

Yes I remember we use to "fiddle" with the fuel gauge,s @ VAG.
The old Volvo,s have the same problem, but they also use gauge,s & electrics from VDO - Bosch & Hella just like VW did. _________________ http://www.showcars.dk/ |
