Dont you think that family cars from the 80s are rarer than cars from the 50s,60s and 70s.
Like the vauxhall senator..mk2 cavalier...nova saloon..mk1 astra...montego to name a few. Goodness knows when I last saw any of them on the road. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

Depends where you look. These 1980's cars have now been classed as retro cars and these scene is getting bigger, well it is down South anyway.
We've a 1980's family car as our daily driver and several other people we know have. _________________ 1953 Humber Hawk

Cousin G, if you want any spares for your 80's driver, you know who to ask....
I thought the same way as O-N, ie good, but then I thought, will we miss them as classics in 30 or 40 years. I probably wont then... |

| It's just that I can't think of much from the 80's that I would find desirable, perhaps that's because I've already owned many of them back when they were current so don't find them attractive? |

Maybe because the roads are gritted more up here in the winter than in the south.(or is that a load of cobblers.) that they have just rotted away.
What would I collect from the 80s ?? I really dont know. Nothing really takes my fancy. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

| I would have expected that there would have been more older cars in Scotland. Every time I get up to Moray, I'm always amazed at both the amount of classics I see and the condition of the cars... |

From the cars that survive, future generations are likely to get a rather strange view of the 80s. They will listen in disbelief as old-timers tell them that Ford actually made cars without an RS badge, Peugeot and Renault didn't just make hot hatches and Porsche were not the top-selling make
