No matter, I forget just how big France is sometimes!
I can't get over how many unmolested resto projects keep turning up over there
That one has suicide doors which would make the bodyshell alone worth around £600 - 700 or so in that condition, plus the doors etc look sound, the lights are of the desired type... France is a gold mine! |

The spares salvaged from a rough one would still be worth buying.
I saw a good ripple bonnet sell on leboncoin for around £40 recently, £250 in the UK at the very least.
Those headlamps with the red lens on top, unobtainable in the UK - yet standing in fields throughout France! Front suicide doors in good condition - virtually name your own price for those over here, four light bodyshells etc.
I think with the growing rarity and therefore cost of Citroen 2cv's alone in the UK there is a market to be had for genuine spares. The prices charged for body panels over here has grown enormously, even the poor fitting relacement (eastern copies) wings etc are expensive now.
One Merc Sprinter full of spares would net a few thousand in UK prices, a bit like a booze run but not illegal!
The only drawback I see is actually having to deal with the French, I've emailed several regarding spares they were selling and not once received a reply...even on ebay they sell to 'France only' in their ads! |

For a time I was looking around at vehicles on ebay.fr, I contacted a few vendors and most did come back to me, willing to deal with a Brit if I bid and won the auction. I did cheat and use an online translation tool, for the trickier phrases anyway

Oh I hadn't seen that! In that case I'm interested in the 2cv above!
Do you have storage capacity for a car until it could be picked up assuming it hasn't sold?
I take it the last one we enquired about hasn't got back to you? |

yes I have storage the other 2cv got back to me but the car looks really bad not much salvageable.
I agree with you in theory its a good idea to get a load of parts and ship in a lorry back to the UK I could do that all day but its the actual finding buyers and storage bit the other end that is the difficult bit i would need a partner in the UK that could take them off my hands
With my website I am trying to build contacts and supplier base but its going to take time so am just concentrating on the personal side at the moment
