Hi

Just got back from the Fig pie rolling contest in Wymbury, a few old cars; an overland from ohio (I think it was overland), a morris oxford, a 10 ton Burrel roller that actually weighs 13 ton (Funny how they are allways heavier), my Friends Albion Charabanc and my matesAveling roller. Then I turned up on the PF, with a very wobbly pedal, had to put it on a mates roof rack to get home, also nearly had the first fall of months, I went down the same hill they roll the pies down, heck, with the pedal isue I had one foot to resist with, and that set me very off balance, I was shaking about, but telling myself I can't fall off, there are thousands of people watching. I nearly let rip, but being so unbalanced, I was scared about coming off, and there is a give way sign at the bottom, so thought I better not!

May find a pic or two latter, if I can get them on the computer, off my phone, was unable to take the camera, as I was scared of breaking it whilst riding/falling.

A nice little afternoon meet all in all!

Cheers

Dave

Hi

I only found out last night about 11pm, nearly rang you this morning but thought you would probably already be going somewhere or have plans.

Cheers

Penny farthings, Fig pie rolling, why don't we have anything like that down south? I'm beginning to feel deprived.
Going to the Ham Street show tomorrow, last year we had 'Lindy Hopping,'
nowhere near as good as PFs and Fig Pies. Laughing

'Silly old Sod's' Law strikes again. Set off for the Ham Street show at sparrowfart this morning in the Special, started to sound laboured and then to overheat after ten miles... When adapting the new master cylinder I hadn't left any slack on the operating linkage to take up expansion of the fluid: the brakes were coming on of their own accord. Had to abort the journey.
Wouldn't be so bad but I made the same mistake when I first built the car.

Sadly, it is now sitting on the drive and the memsahib and myself will miss seeing the Lindy Hoppers. Crying or Very sad
