I am not going to get into the debate about shooting but I was raised on a farm, was a member of the Royal Sandringham hunt and now shoot in France.
It was "the done thing" at the time
Now though as France is behind the times hunting is still common practice but highly regulated NOT as a sport but as food and a means of animal control _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com

Wouldn't say France is behind the times Greeney. Maybe the people are smart enough to vent their feelings to the government before their lives are screwed up, and they guard their rights jealously. We, in England, always leave it too late. IMHO. |

Yes you are right with all the above maybe"behind the times" was the wrong terminology
They haven't resorted to being a "nanny state" yet might have been better _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com

So THAT`S why there are so many Europeans at the range every time I go to fire a few hundred rounds!
We are in a tourist area, as you know, and the gun range is a popular place with them. You can rent anything from a small calibur pistol to an AR-15, and a couple bags of ammo. Shoot all day for less than $50.00! _________________ "The only thing I`m sure of.....is that I`m not sure of anything!" |

there was a time when Tommy could put his ten rounds of .303 up the spout of an SMLE faster AND more accurately than a Yank could squeeze off the eight in an M1 Garand........ Jerry could run through his eight Kar98 rounds almost as quickly... and now perhaps they all want to keep a finger in.... |
