As the car is a full restoration project and seems to be incomplete, I don't think it will fetch more than 500 - 1,000 GBP. If the wings are missing (as on the picture), then even less. |

Hi Gav,
The wings are not missing they are just in the garage.
But your estimation is fine!
Thanks a lot!

Hi GAV, welcome back to the forum - it'd be interesting to read about the car in your avatar if you get a chance to post some pics?
cheers, Rick |
Thanks Rick.
The car in the avatar is my 1954 11B Normale, which I bought two years ago.
Basically it’s a sound rustfree car but the paintwork is anything but nice and unfortunately not black... Interior is not original with Renault 16 seats and PVC upholstery (the work of a former owner). More info on my website. Below a few pics.

Yes, it is. With these cars a radiator blind and a thermostat are really necessary extra's if you want to keep the coolant temperature on a healthy level, say 80 degr. C. Installing a water temperature gauge is the second most important "modification".
But there are more improvements that can be made to a Traction nowadays, f.i. a 123 electronic ignition (which includes a fully new distributor) and modern driveshafts with CV joints on both sides.
A respected supplier of improved Traction parts is Roger Williams in the U.K.: http://www.steam-car-dev.karoo.net/ |
