Hi all a mate of mine has just bought a little metro with low miles and sound body but has been told it needs a new clutch as the pedal is high . In my experience clutches go when the pedal is on the floor in the air is usually adjustment . The cable on the metro is a self adjusting type so can't play with that , any ideas folks .

1. Does it still disengage?
2. Is it still possible to push the pedal to the floor?

Clutch still engages and you can push the pedal all the way to the floor .

Sounds like a problem with the auto cable adjust mechanism or the pedal stop. It certainly doesn't sound like anything wrong with the clutch itself.
I'd be surprised if the repair was other than at the pedal.
