Thanks so much for the info. And yes, thinking that I will have my car restored in a year is the result of an overactive imagination coupled with beginner's enthusiasm. Rolling Eyes
Apologies to all for bringing my "big yank car" to your forum, but she needs lovin' too. Wink I'll try not to be to intrusive.

Maranda

Hi Maranda, as Greeney says no need to apologise!! I've got an old American truck, as has Job-Rated, Uncle Joe has a couple of American cars, plus Scotty, stuchamp, Dirty Habit, dclf1947,Giggles and others all have at least one US car to their name also!! Smile

I feel better now. Very Happy We also have John Deere tractors and a 60's Rambler, but I was hesitant to mention them.

I bought a reproduction shop manual and an original owner's manual for my car on ebay. I am hoping that the manual will tell me all the details about how things go together in the engine. I imagine I'll know soon if this was a correct assumption.

I think I'll start a new string in the projects discussion detailing my work in progress. I'll brush up on my vocabulary beforehand. I don't want to confuse a boot with my shoe. Laughing Look for me there.
