I really want to fit 15" wheels to my special in place of the 17s but I am having real trouble finding any Ballamy's so I have looked further afield. I noticed a few stock cars use 5 stud 15" Beetle wheels and was wondering if this is a simple conversion. |

I tried an old beetle wheel recently and it would fit but you had to be careful to tighten the bolts evenly - I dont think I would recommend it.
There was a thread on this some months ago when I asked a similar question.
At the Specials weekend at Burford on Sunday I spent much of the time examining what people have done. It seems that most have found 15 inch rims, drilled out the pop rivets on the 16/17 inch Ford Wheels then re rivited/welded the Ford centres to the new rims.
If you do use Beetle wheels, watch the offset as they foulded my suspension - apparently this is a common occurence and you need to either reverse the rims or use spavers. |

Thanks Tony. That is very intersting. Are there any other 15" wheels that fit Ford hubs? |
