I wonder if someone like Friary Motors or Abbotts of Farnham, who did the first Anglia Estates, did a one-off to try the market.

It's not a factory job,in fact it's a NZ saloon racing special.Several of these were built in the mid 60's ,and Ron Rutherford,a local car wrecker,still raced one in the seventies in the open class.I believe there may have been 6 or8 built in total.There was also one with a streamlined nose,and Ford V8 power.
Most racing Anglias had a 1500 motor,well tickled to produce a tractable little racer.Those were the days!

Been a great wee car in its day, you dont get this body shape anymore. Unfortunately just been sitting for few years, be a great restoration project for someone with the time, as you can see there is a bit to do , but not beyond repair. Lovely woodgrain dash. Have owned since 1970. Did the motor up a few years ago but with sitting is not going now.

cool i havent seen one of these for a few years now,,reminds me of the ole breadvan racecars back in the days,These things like this a very rare wish i had some $$$$ to buy i just love my anglias had about 8 of them when i was a teen in various guises from standard to wild(4cyls to v6 motors) good luck with the auction hope you get a good price as you wont find one of these in a great hurry in this country posted by: suzyq44 (27 ) 7:32 pm, Sat 20 Sep

Yes its a cool and rare 105E,looks like a clever conversion,a real shame that its been left out side and left to rot it self to death , thats why it hasnt sold ,with the amount of views its had before it should have ,but at a 5k reserve ,i think you are dreaming.from what i can see of the rust ,its gunna be worse in the floor, boot, wheel arches.shame realy. posted by: muddyandthalma (139 ) 12:15 am, Wed 24 Sep

Hi, Outstanding! I started a chop on one of these back in the '70's but it was never completed...(amongst other similar ventures). There was a a racing "breadvan" locally for inspiration, but I can see this is really something else. Awesome project. LOL to buyers, as this is worth preserving. Absolutely! It reminds me of the some of the mod'd cars that would appear on the cover of Car and Car Conversions, or Hot Car magazine, in the early 70s.
