Does anyone know what colour Morris used to paint their engines pre war? I'm going to have to paint my 1939 unit after its rebuilt so may as well get it right!

(think MG engines came out of the same factory so could wel be the same ?)

Cheers Dave

I'm not sure about MG engines being the same colour, certainly post-war they were red compared to BMC's green, whether that was the case pre-war I'm not sure. I just dug out an old sales booklet from 1935 (issued by the Wedgewood Motor Co. Ltd. of Nantwich Road in Crewe), frustratingly all the illustrations are b/w + one colour only, and no colour pics of the engine! if I think on I'll have a look at my friend's Series E later today, see what that has (did you find a spare steering wheel by any chance?)

Think you are right about MG's being red, have just been informed that since 1925 morris engines were painted Middle Bronze Green (BS 223).

Have only got the cracked steering wheels that I posted opics of a month or 2 ago. Have got loads of hub caps though think your pal wanted 1?
