My old torque wrench was cheap (c.£15) when purchased about twenty years ago. So it is bound to need replacing...especially as I've been guilty of not winding it back to zero!!!
So I "need" to get another, but don't want to spend silly money...do you have any recommendations?
If I buy a second hand top name model is there a DIY method of calibrating one?

Hi
Buy a new draper one or the like, we bought about 10 at work, and they seem quite good. UK used one from work on his '8 engine, was that a draper one.
Don't think they are much money either.
Even second handones from britool or snap-on, may have been mistreated by a previous owner.
Thats my oppinion anyway!

Share your concerns about prior misuse, but there are a couple on fleabay with current certificates, which kinda helps.
Looked at the Draper ones...also voted number one by Autoexpress in 2005:

I'm also very tempted by the Halfords model shown above, but the price is high.
