Is it possible to dye carpets. I have a full set of hession backed carpets in brown for the marina but I need dark blue or even black. Carpets are as rare as 9 bob notes for the mk1 marina....Has anyone ever attempted to dye carpets.

The trouble is the nylon is through coloured but I have had some success with using a leather dye especially picking a dark blue should be ok
I would suggest getting in touch with "Woolies or speak to Peter at Gliptone"

It gives you a chance to clean them then, jet wash or foam and when you actually dye them use a cellulose to wipe over everything but ONLY AFTER trying an area first to make sure it doesn't melt it. It will make the fibres sticky and that way they take the colour better.
They will also do a lacquer to seal it all
