Somewhere on here there is mention of the Austin A40 Farina as possibly the first hatchback.

I put forward the following:



Greeney will like this one as it is a Citroen Traction Avant Commerciale introduced I believe in 1938.

Yes you are right, although the one above is a 50s model "avec malle bombee" (large boot)
the early commercials had a split tailgate and lift up screen.
very nice though, not sure if it was the first hatchback though

From the numnber of Traction Avants lying around in the photographs it could be a source of spares for Greeney with the strong Euro.
