|
|
I am new to this forum and would like to introduce myself. My name is John Robson, please call me Robbo. I live in the UK in the Hartlepool area.
I own a Ford Consul MK2 Highline 1959. The car was parked up and left to depreciate and when I was admiring the car the owner asked if I new anyone that wanted her. I jumped at the chance. My Consul is now a rolling restoration. I have done alot of work to her, removed alot of chrome that should not of been there and found alot of unsightly things hidden behind the added extras put on the car.
I will get there in the end, I like to run her out ona weekly basis, but I want to do all the restoration work myself as its all part of the fun.
Im now hoping I have finally found a forum were people like to talk about there cars. |

Welcome Robbo,
We certainly like to talk about our cars on this forum! Try and stop us!!!
Like the sound of your Consul. My father bought an early Mk2 Consul new in December 1956 and kept it until about 1972. He loved it. How about posting a photo of yours??
Regards - Keith |

I got all my restoration photos to date on the canon image gateway will figure out how to put them on and will let you see her. She is stunning! I have painted her up using spray cans just to tidy up and keep the rust at bay. When she fully restored am gonna put her in for full re-spray. Am really proud of what I have done so far with her. I have had to rebuild the wheel arches and rebuild the bonnet she had more holes than a tea bag covered by all the unsightly chrome and mesh grills. I have had to I will get there though. Thanks for replying will sort the photos out. |
