Today was the holiday here for the Queens Birthday. Several cars from the Rover Car Club of Australia, (based in Victoria) went on a weekend away. On their return towards Melbourne today, they paused for lunch at the township of Moe. Here are a couple of pics of some of them near Moe Railway Station. (Naturally some ring-ins got between the 'proper' cars.)

Great pictures. Thanks for posting.
On a political tangent. A Holiday for the Queen's Birthday?????
In Europe she didn't even get an invitation to the D-Day landing 65 anniversary!!!
No wonder the BNP following is gathering momentum!!

I don't know when Australia started having a holiday for the Monarch's birthday, but it has been as long as I can remember.

You see we don't have Bank Holidays (Do banks really need holidays?), so have other holidays in place thereof. Our most sacred day is, of course Anzac Day (25th April), then there is Australia Day on the 26th of January.

I believe it was mentioned that the Queen is the only current Head of State that was in uniform at the time of the D Day landings, however someone else discovered that the current Pope was too!
